We are Ronald and Mirjam. Over the years, we have travelled extensively around the world, both for work and for holidays. During our first visit to South Africa, we fell in love with this beautiful country — its warm and welcoming people, rich culture, breathtaking nature and incredible wildlife. When we first stayed at Zandspruit Estate, all of this came together for us in one very special place.

Our dream was to create a beautiful place here that we could always return to. So, when the opportunity arose to acquire a plot, we didn’t hesitate. In 2023, we began building our dream.

We carefully chose the natural tones for the villa, while the decoration was inspired as much as possible by the local surroundings. In this way, we wanted to bring the authentic African atmosphere into the villa. The photographs displayed throughout the villa were all taken during our own adventures in Africa.

We chose the name Sibuya — meaning “we return here” in Zulu — very deliberately. With our villa, we have created a place that we will always return to with great love, and we hope to share that special feeling and experience with you.
